Takeoff - A Cam and Bonnie Story

“Welp we’re all booked for the next few days but uhh…” The chatty clerk clicked a few things on his computer. “…Uhh…Friday! We could get you situated and off at eight in the morning.” The man smiled as if his response was a pleasing one to the anxious couple on the run. Blank stares followed his answered, continued by Bonnie mouthing curses under her breath.
“But sir, we are in quite a rush. We need to leave today.” Explained Cam.
The man still smiled as if what he was saying was ok. “Oh you two love birds don’t need to rush anywhere.” He waved them off. “You’re in the best place in town. Take some time off to spend alone before you leave out, a few days isn’t so bad.”
“But it’s Tuesday!” Cam abruptly shouted, startling both the clerk and Bonnie who was off in her own world. “We need to leave tonight, right now!”  If it wasn’t one thing it was another. Every minute they stayed in that dreaded area, CASH was closer to ringing their necks dry.
“Well it’s no need to get so upset young man, maybe you should go to the commercial airline, they always have flights.” The man didn’t know when to shut up. If Bonnie didn’t grab Cam and walk him out of the office, he would have ripped the man a new orifice.
“Don’t worry about it darling.” It was now Bonnie’s turn to drag Cam around the lot of the parking lot. So much for her plan, he thought. Cameron was so frustrated he couldn’t even see where they were walking to. Simply Bonnie took the lead and continued to walk around the lot determined to find the hanger that matched the key she had stolen from the office.
“We haven’t come this far to fail baby.” She reassured him. Cam just walked along, having given up ages ago.
Hanger 59
Using the key to open the side door, Bonnie pushed Cam inside, locked the door and pulled out a Ziploc freezer bag of cocaine.
“That could get a whole whale high! What are you doing with that?” Cam shouted at Bonnie. Among all the confusion, Cam had yet the opportunity to address his disappointment with Bonnie using again. Since high school, Bonnie had developed a high appetite for drugs. By the time the two met, cocaine had become her best friend, her crutch. It took Cam almost a year to effectively wean Bonnie sober; it was a hard and long battle.
“Baby, why would you do this again?” He pulled her face towards his, with all that was going on, his emotions could not handle such a hindrance.
Fighting tears Bonnie replied.
“But honey, I could get us out of here.” She waved the plane keys in his face with one hand and the coke in the other. “Remember I said I took pilot lessons in college?”
“Yeah but you didn’t pass your test.”
She waved him off as she pulled away from his embrace and walked towards the small six passenger plane.
“This is the only option we have right now.” She opened the door to the plane and attempted to climb in before Cameron grabbed her arm.
“You want to steal this plane, fly it to wherever with no directions, all while you’re high off coke and expect me to be ok with it?”
“We just stole ten million dollars from my father, don’t act like you have morals now.” She shot back. “Now it’s either I boost my high and save our asses and fly this plane or we stay here like sitting ducks and wait for CASH to kill us.”  Irritated Bonnie opened the bag of cocaine and snorted a portion straight from the bag. Cam did nothing but watch in despair. She pinched a bit from the bag, placed it on the back of her hand and stuck it out for Cameron. “Your turn.”
From being around the rich and affluent Cam had seen his share on how cocaine could effect a person. There was no way that he was about to fall into the rabbit hole and join Bonnie in her destruction.
“No.” He shrugged.
Forgetting that the coke was on her hand, Bonnie threw her hands up in frustration letting a small white cloud breeze between them.
“Well I can’t have you sitting next to me making me nervous while I’m flying. I need you to be on the same level I am.” Moments went by of intense staring between the two. Neither were budging. Finally Bonnie conceded with a deep breath.
“If you do this for me baby. I promise I’ll never use again.” Using her puppy dog eyes she pleaded.
“You said that last time, we worked so hard to get you clean.”
Bonnie leaned in to kiss Cameron. “But this time is different baby.”

Break Away - A Cam and Bonnie Story

Part one- Part Favors

“You fucking did what!”
People rushing by, eyes darting towards them, announcements being called over the loud speaker. Cameron had made an hour and a half drive to the airport in forty minutes. Dumped his getaway car in a random parking lot, bought tickets for the next plane leaving out, confirmed their living arrangements for the next few days and just before he could breathe a sigh of relief, his lovely wife who did nothing but come down from her high while he stressed his ass off, had left her passport.
“…I…I…don…don’t know..” Falling to her knees as Cameron hovered over her. His eyes glared with anger, clenching his jaw. Bonnie falling to the floor caused more of a scene than he would have liked while they stood in the security line but he didn’t care. Words couldn’t describe how irate he was. All she had to do was transfer the money in the offshore account that he provided and bring her fucking passport. Not to mention stay clean from coke but that was a minor setback that would have to be dealt with later.
“Excuse me, but you two will have to step to the side. You are holding up the line.” A security guard that looked too frail to actually secure the area approached the two. Everyone, everyone in the close vicinity watched on as the two made the biggest scene they had saw so early on in their day.
Not wanting to draw further attention, Cameron forcibly grabbed his wife’s arm and yanked her to her feet.
“Come on Bonnie.” Angrily Cam demanded. Bonnie’s body moved limp like a rag doll as she followed Cameron’s suit out of the airport. Too scared to push him any further, Bonnie remained silent as Cameron lead them around the airport parking lot walking in circles.
He was frustrated, confused, excited and lost. After all these years of living way below means he was finally headed to the life he was meant for, the life that was stolen from him. This little hiccup was a minor setback but nothing was going to stop him from living his dreams, nothing at all.
Bonnie, his dear wife, finally gave up their aimless journey and sat on the ground. Still attached to Cam’s arm, she gave it a tug for him to sit next to him in between two parked cars. Her eyes said it all, she was sorry. He wanted to yell at her some more but simply he couldn’t resist the pitiful look on her face. It wasn’t her fault that she forgot her passport, it was her addiction’s.
“Baby…I’m so sorry.” Twenty minutes of stillness and Bonnie spoke first. All Cam could do was nod his head. The anger he had towards Bonnie subsided, his mind was now on plan C. If they couldn’t make it out of town soon enough, they would hide out in the surrounding area and then take a boat from the docks. CASH was sure to notice their absence and most likely knew they stole his money already.
His minions were probably out in the area searching for them right now and CASH was on the phone making calls on how to get his money back and track them down. The money wasn’t Cam’s concern though, the money was now transferred into a foreign account and then distributed into multiple different accounts that frequently changed account numbers so they could not be traced. Once the two reached their final destination, a surprise for Bonnie, they would cash out their accounts, change their identities and live the rest of their life ten million dollars richer. Everything was set, all they had to do was make it out of town alive.
“Cam!” Bonnie shook him to disturb his train of thought.
“Not now Bonnie, I’m trying to figure out a way to get us out of here.”
“But I have a plan! We can fly on one of those private planes.”
Cam rolled his eyes in annoyance, the effects of the cocaine must have lingered to give her such a boost in confidence.
“You lost your passport remember? No one is going to fly us anywhere without it, plus we don’t have the money yet to pay them.”
It was now her time to be annoyed, Bonnie rose to her feet and attempted to pull Cameron up as well but he remained on the ground.
“I have money!” Reaching in her bag to take out the stack of money she took from CASH’s office, making effort to keep the bag of cocaine inside her bag hidden from Cameron seeing.
“We could hire a plane to Miami and then a boat to Cuba or something.” Once Cam saw the large stack of money in Bonnie’s hand, he jumped to his feet and embraced her.
“My love, you are so good for me. I love you.” His accent rang out, Bonnie ignored and proceed to walk towards the private planes.
He should have never doubted her, Bonnie had more tricks up her sleeve than Cam could count. But only he could bring the bad side out of her. A match made in Heaven. Bonnie became tickled with the plan she thought of, just wait until he found out.
