Part two
Part three
The
Coast is Clear
Bora Bora was a lovely
island to vacation, and even perfect place to hide out. Within six months from
their stunt, Cam and Bonnie had traveled to a new beach each month. Staying
just long enough to get comfortable but not long enough for people to remember
their fake names.
Relentless in his
pursuit to find the two CASH had increased his bounty for the two to almost
double of what they stole. To him, revenge had no price tag and what he lost he
could make within a few drops or business arrangements. All of his men and
associates were given the job with one condition. Return Cam dead or alive but
not to touch a hair on Bonnie, his baby girl. He wanted to deal with her
himself.
Cameron was well aware
of the tag on his head but with having close ties to CASH’s associates who
reported back to him, there was nothing he worried about. All he was concerned
about was living a beautiful life with his beautiful wife. He was living up to
his promise to give her the life he always talked about.
As Bonnie jumped around
the waves in the ocean, Cam sat back on the beach sipping something fruity that
Bonnie had poured. Still feeling the buzz off of the last hit he had, he felt a
mixture of guilt and pleasure. Since their flight, Bonnie had kept her end of
the bargain and remained clean but all Cameron needed was one hit to become
hooked to the white gold.
“Are you just going to
sit there and get drunk all day?” Bonnie asked as she hopped her wet body onto
his. The heist had did her good. Some said that after couples married, they let
their selves go, but Bonnie had just gotten better. She let her hair grow and
her natural curls rome free, all the good food they ate gave her curves in all
the right places, and with everything, even if it was sweeping the floor, she
did with a smile. Cam couldn’t help but fall deeper in love with her.
Her happiness was
contagious. “I’m trying to work on my tan sweetheart.” He said as he pulled her
body closer toward his, letting the wetness moisten his hot skin.
“Better you than me, I
can’t stand to get any darker than I already am.” Bonnie reached into their
beach bag to retrieve the sunblock, just barely missing the small bag of coke
Cam had hidden in the bag. She passed the bottle to Cam for him to apply the
lotion on her back.
“Nonsense, I love your
color.” He put the lotion down and pulled Bonnie in for a kiss. “You know I
have a thing for chocolate.” The two shared a laugh.
Everything was good and
besides the fact that Bonnie burned the bride with her dad, she couldn’t have
been more happier. Especially of what was to come in the future.
“Baby.” Bonnie kissed
Cam slightly hesitant of telling him what was on her mind for a while. “I have
to tell you something.” She felt Cam’s body slightly tense up from under her.
Removing his glasses,
he looked Bonnie in the eye. “What is it my love?”
Happy and excited
Bonnie opened her mouth to speak but was interrupted by a familiar figure
walking on the beach.
“Is that Marco?” Already
on edge from what Bonnie had to say, Cam popped up from his seat to view the
man walking towards them
“Cameron? Is that you?”
The man removed his shades for a better look as he walked closer. “It is you!
Wow man, how long has it been?”
“Not long enough.” Cam
mumbled under his breath as he rose to greet his old friend Marco. He faked a
smile and hugged the man who was a bit too eager to see him.
“And Bonnie, wow you
look really good.” He hugged Bonnie tighter and longer than Cam was comfortable
with. He had let her wear the new bikini that she was dying to wear only
because the beach they were on was slightly secluded. There was nothing left to
imagination with her bright pink suit and Marco looked on like a starving dog.
“Marco, what’s the
coincidence.” Stepping in between Marco and his wife, Cam wanted this reunion
to be quick and painless.
Marco sensed the
territorial demeanor Cameron held toward him and took a step back, still
assessing the situation.
“I know, crazy right.
The last time I saw you two love birds, we were on the other side of the
world.” He chuckled, Cam became skeletal the more thought he put into the
situation. “You two look like life’s treating you well. I see CASH finally let
his baby girl go with the bad guy huh?”
That comment was enough
to tip the cup over. There was no chance in hell that the two would run into
each other on a private beach thousands of miles from where they last met. It
was time for them to go.
“Yeah…but uhh… it was
good seeing you. We should hook up later, but Bonnie was ready to go just
before you came. It was good seeing you.” On that cue, Bonnie hurriedly grabbed
their bags and followed Cam as he walked off. She too felt displaced by seeing
Marco, she never felt good around him, especially now in Bora Bora.
Confused by their
abrupt departure Marco waved bye and called out. “I’ll see you soon Cameron.”
With a smile still too eager to be good.
Being
cool as their anxious minds would allow, the two walked off in a hurried pace. “We’re
leaving tonight.” Cam declared once they were out of earshot, Bonnie couldn’t
agree more.
It was nearing night
fall as Cam and Bonnie rushed to stuff all of their belongings into their
suitcases. Clothes and other small stuff they didn’t even bother with, this was
code blue. Get up and get out. All that mattered were the essentials, ID’s,
phone’s and money. CASH had managed to find one of their accounts and take back
a third of their money. Since then they operated on cash only, carrying the
rest of their money in a large trunk with them everywhere they went.
CASH was very vocal on
his desire to reach Cam and if Marco still ran in the same circles the last Cam
checked, then Marco was very aware of the bounty on his head and posed a very
large threat. They just had to get out before Marco gathered his crew. But they
were too late.
Knock
knock
“Is anyone home?” Marco
called out from the other side of the front door. Of course they were home, the
door was made of glass and the windows were wide open, giving a clear direct
view into the living room where Bonnie was packing the last bag. Marco waved
hello with a 45mm in his hand, signaling for her to open the door.
Behind him stood three
husky henchmen who looked like they killed for a living. Each man was dressed
in black and held at least one gun in their hands. She had no choice but to
open the door.
“Are you guys leaving
so soon? I was hoping we could hang out.” He put his arm around Bonnie as he
walked into the house, his men followed. “We got to catch up!” He squeezed her
closer, making her breast rub against his chest.
“What do you want?”
Cameron questioned as he walked in from the other room, he too holding a gun in
his hand.
“Mi Amigo! It’s so good
to see you again.”
“Yeah, yeah. Let my
wife go.” He pointed the gun right to Marco’s head.
Knowing he had the
upper hand, Marco let out a laugh and pulled a resistant Bonnie closer to him.
“Cameron, is that
anyway to treat an old friend? Put the gun down.”
Still anxious on their
current situation Cameron held his gun pointed to Marco’s head. If he was there
to claim CASH’s bounty then he knew Marco wouldn’t hurt a hair on Bonnie and if
he was going to die, then what better way than with guns blazing.
“Let my wife go.”
Through clenched teeth he said. With the rush from getting their things to
leave, Bonnie didn’t bother to change from her bikini. Marco relished in the
fact that she didn’t, now grabbing a handful of Bonnie’s breast. If she wasn’t
so close to him, Cam would have blown his brains out but he couldn’t risk
hitting his wife.
So much had changed
since the last time the two had shared the same space. Years had past, so many
miles apart, money. Clearly the time had did the both of them well. Marco had
gained muscle from his previous scrawny body, his beard full but his eyes. The
same eyes that were filled with laughter and optimism was now darkened by
whatever events that occurred in their time apart. Marco was always about
chasing a dollar, and now that he held a gun to his old pal’s precious wife’s
head, it was clear that his pursuit of money had taken over his life.
Cam knew what Marco was
there for and seeing the terrified look on Bonnie’s face as Marco pointed a gun
to her head made him give up whatever hope he had of living a lavish lifestyle.
If he fought back, he could risk losing his life. Bonnie would return back to
CASH and face whatever he had in store for her, she would face the rest of her
life with the burning image of her husband being killed in front of her over
money. Or he could just give up, let Marco take the cash and start over with
his wife. It pained him but he would rather struggle with Bonnie by his side
than have her go without him. He knew she felt the same way. Slowly, Cam put
the gun down.
“Alright.” He sighed in
defeat. “Just let her go.”
Still Marco forcibly
held Bonnie against her will. “Where’s the money?”
Briefly Cameron thought
of a way out. He could say that it was still in transit and send them on a wild
chase to find the money. Give them the old account numbers and find a way to
sneak out but Marco was the one who taught Cam the game. Like a big brother,
Marco told Cam rule number one “Always use cash.”
Marco nodded to his
hunch men to scour the room. “Don’t make me wait Cameron. You know how impatient
I am.” He took a deep breath of Bonnie’s hair. “You smell the same Bonnie. Delicious.”
He kissed her forehead;
Cam’s blood began to boil.
“You know Bonnie…I
always wondered if it was you that I took home that night instead of your fat
friend. What was her name again? Stacy?”
Having enough of being
molested by slimy Marco, Bonnie dipped down and elbowed him in the crouch.
“It was Sarah you
backstabbing dick.” She snarled as she attempted to twist the gun out of
Marco’s hand. The blow was hard but not enough to weaken his grip, he regained
his stance and pushed Bonnie to the floor. Just before Marco proceeded to kick
her in the belly, Cameron meshed his fist with Marco’s face.
The altercation was
enough to distract the goonies from opening the trunk with the money but it was
three of them each armed with guns and only Cam and Bonnie flustered from the
fight. Cam pulled Bonnie up from the floor, moving her behind him to block her
from harm.
“Just go Marco. Leave.”
Cam shouted as he threw one of Bonnie’s purses to him. Inside contained a few
thousand dollars, Cam prayed that it would be enough for them.
Marco opened the bag
and pulled out the money. With a satisfied look on his face he nodded his head.
“Nice, this is very
nice my friend.” Blood from his broken nose dripped on the floor as he
continued to nod his head. “See all you had to do was give me the money. We
didn’t have to go through all of this.” He waved the gun around the room.
“But this won’t even
cover the nose job I have to get now.” He pointed to his gushing nose. “Word on
the street is that you stole millions of CASH’s money and kidnapped his baby
girl.”
Fuck!
Cam and Bonnie both thought. Not only were people looking for them but they
knew how much was at stake and thought that Cam was a kidnapper. It was only a
matter of time before someone caught up to them but Marco of all people was
last on Cameron’s list.
Picking up a blouse of
Bonnie’s that laid strewn around the room, Marco used it as a napkin for his
nose.
Muffled through the shirt
he spoke. “Now let’s cut the bull shit. I know how much you have and I know you
have it in cash. Now give it up and we’ll leave. Keep it up and I blow your
brains out. Either way I still get the money.”
“Just tell him Cam.”
Bonnie whispered in his ear from behind him. It was enough for her, the lies,
the sneaking and now being hunted by countless people, even those who they
thought were their friends. She stood there in disbelief that falling for the
man that blocked her from harm, but really was no protection from the four men,
would cause so much pain. In the beginning, running away was fun, exhilarating
even. But with the frequent moves and name changes, their excursion became
tiring. The money wasn’t worth it and if that was what was causing them to run
around the world, risking their lives at every turn, then it was time to give
up. It was no way to start a family, and if they made it out alive it wouldn’t
just be two lives spared.
Knowing it useless to
fight any longer, Cam listened to his wife and bowed out. He pointed to the
trunk. Hastily Marco signaled for his men to open the trunk.
Five and a half million
dollars neatly stacked was carried out of their lives making all of their hard
work and burning bridges amount up to nothing. They were back were they
started, broke.
“Welp.” Marco giddily
smiled as he proceed to walk out. “Look at it on the bright side. At least I
didn’t tell CASH. He surely would have killed you both. Now you get to live.
Broke but still living.”
And broke they were.
Six months before they were high off life and living it up, now they were
strained in Bora Bora with probably enough to last them a few weeks if they
laid low. But they couldn’t lay low enough because if Marco could find them
with little resources he had, CASH was sure to be close.
To be continued....
